Though I felt that her saying it was because Avery wouldn't like it, was a little more of an excuse than the reality, I appreciated that she found a way to let Luann know she did not want to participate and to check Luann on the previous, covert digs that Luann made in Morocco, about Ramona and Mario's relationship.
The conversation begins with Luann discussing Avery's birthday party but quickly turns to the real reason that Luann is sitting down to lunch, with Ramona.
When Luann inquires as to why she 'heard' that Ramona doesn't want to take part in the video, and starts off by telling Ramona that she understands if Ramona doesn't want to and she wouldn't want her to do something she doesn't want to do, she seems to come apart at the seams when Ramona sticks to her guns.
When pressed, Ramona gets to the meat & potatoes of the lunch, and explains what she means about her 'trifecta' analogy, explaining that she, Mario and Avery make joint decisions as a family and asserts that her marriage of 18 years, is in tact.
Luann kept wetting her whistle to deliver a blow, but it seems that she left most of them back in Morocco.
Personally, I couldn't figure out how Luann expected Ramona, or Alex or Sonja for that matter, to be the least bit interested in supporting her video, after they experienced Luann's 'hosting' abilities in Morocco.Luann somehow felt that she was 'gracious and kind', though I'm not quite sure how she managed to rewrite the actuality of that whole affair in her mind. That episode should go down in the history books of how not to treat your guests when hosting an event, if you expect them to still be friendly with you after.
